SUE CRONMILLER, Founding Director
Sue Cronmiller earned an MFA in English with a concentration in poetry from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) graduate programs in writing. Since 1998, Ms. Cronmiller has been developing, directing and delivering innovative, award winning writing projects that connect the University of California with schools in the Santa Ana Unified School District. In 2003, Ms. Cronmiller founded the non-profit poetryXchange to support a network of community-based arts, writing and curriculum development projects. She currently teaches writing at the University of California, Irvine.
Sue Cronmiller's poetry has appeared in the Alaskan Quarterly Review, Negative Capability, Kalliope Journal of Women's Writing, Faultline, Pennsylvania English and Interiors/Exteriors. She has written, edited and published several anthologies of student work and numerous curricular units integrating literature and language arts with art, history, science and geography.
ALLISON MILLER, Assistant Director
Allison Miller earned an MFA in English with a concentration in poetry from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) graduate programs in writing, where she was a Jacob Javits fellow. Before attending UCI, she graduated with honors from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and studied photography at Jane Adams Hull House in Chicago. In 2005, she started an afterschool digital photography program at El Sol Science and Arts Academy. She currently serves as Editor of the UCI Poetry Academy Writing LAB.
Allison Miller's writing and photography has appeared in The Ear, Sycamore Review and Harpur Palate. She has received two Academy of American Poets Prizes.
JOSE FERNANDO FLORES, Art Director
Jose Fernando Flores was born in Guatemala City and immigrated to United States at age three. He received a B.S. in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Latin American Studies from Eastern Illinois University. He currently lives and works in Long Beach as a technology consultant.
Jose Flores studied photography at Jane Adams Hull House in Chicago. His photography has appeared in Faultline and Harpur Palate and illustrates the cover of the Jupiter Launches print anthology published by the University of California in 2003.
